Terms of Service

1. Welcome & Acceptance

By accessing or using the A Chef For A Day platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. A Chef For A Day ("we," "our," "us") reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Platform Description

A Chef For A Day is an online marketplace and community platform connecting professional chefs, culinary instructors, and food enthusiasts. Services include: live and recorded cooking classes; private chef event booking; culinary staffing services; a chef marketplace; a digital shop; video content hosting; and a community food feed.

3. User Accounts

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to provide accurate and current information. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Chef Accounts & Platform Fee

Chefs approved on the Platform agree to a 30% platform service fee on all transactions processed through A Chef For A Day, including class enrollments, private event payments, and shop sales. Chefs receive 70% of all completed transactions. Payouts are processed on a bi-weekly basis. The 30% fee covers: payment processing, marketing, platform maintenance, customer support, and insurance underwriting costs.

5. Bookings & Cancellations

Private event confirmation fees are non-refundable once paid. Class cancellations made more than 48 hours before the class are eligible for a full credit. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable. Chefs cancelling confirmed events may be subject to penalties and removal from the Platform.

6. Video Content & Community Feed

By uploading video content to the Platform, you grant A Chef For A Day a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and promote your content on the Platform and associated social media channels. You retain ownership of your content. You agree not to upload content that is: unlawful, harmful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or infringing on third-party rights. We reserve the right to remove any content at our discretion.

7. Advertiser Relationships

We may display third-party advertisements on the Platform. We are not responsible for the content of advertisements or any products/services advertised. Clicking on ads is at your own risk. Advertisers agree to separate advertising terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All Platform content, branding, logos, and software are the exclusive property of A Chef For A Day and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Platform is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, A Chef For A Day shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the preceding 90 days.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless A Chef For A Day, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, losses, or damages (including legal fees) arising from: your use of the Platform; your content; your violation of these Terms; or your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Orange County, Florida.
