1. Relationship of Parties

Chefs on the A Chef For A Day Platform are independent contractors, not employees. Nothing in this Agreement creates an employment, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship. Chefs are solely responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and compliance with applicable laws.

2. Platform Fee & Revenue Split

A Chef For A Day charges a 30% service fee on all gross revenue generated through the Platform. This includes cooking class enrollments, private event payments, shop sales, and any other monetized services. Chefs receive 70% of all gross revenue. The platform fee covers: payment processing (Stripe fees included), marketing and customer acquisition, platform maintenance and support, dispute resolution, and insurance underwriting.

3. Earnings & Tax Records

Your Chef Dashboard provides complete earnings records including: gross revenue, platform fee deductions, net payout amount, quarterly and annual tax summaries, downloadable transaction history for tax filing. Chefs are responsible for reporting their earnings to applicable tax authorities. We provide 1099-NEC forms to US-based chefs earning over $600 annually.

4. Store Access & Products

Chefs may enable the platform Shop feature through their Dashboard Settings. By enabling the Store, you agree: products must comply with applicable food safety laws; all items are subject to admin approval before listing; the 30% platform fee applies to all shop sales; you are responsible for accurate descriptions, food safety compliance, and shipping/fulfillment; digital products (recipes, meal plans) are permitted; prohibited items include alcohol (without license), controlled substances, and non-food items unrelated to culinary arts.

5. Service Standards

Chefs agree to: maintain a professional standard of conduct; honor confirmed bookings; provide accurate profile information; respond to client inquiries within 24 hours; maintain food handler certifications as required by local law; carry appropriate liability insurance for private events.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of your recipes, videos, and creative content. By publishing content on the Platform, you grant A Chef For A Day a non-exclusive license to feature your content in marketing materials and on Platform pages. You may revoke this license with 30 days written notice.

7. Termination

Either party may terminate this Agreement with 14 days written notice. Termination does not affect any outstanding obligations. In cases of serious misconduct, fraud, or safety violations, we may terminate immediately. Upon termination, pending payouts for completed work will be processed normally.

8. Dispute Resolution

We encourage direct resolution between chefs and clients. For platform-related disputes, contact support@achefforaday.com. Disputes not resolved informally will be subject to binding arbitration in Orange County, Florida.

9. Amendments

We may update this Agreement with 30 days notice via email. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
